Buddy Davis 28' CC
Buddy Davis has been a well known brand name in the world of sportfishermen for decades. They have a reputation of being some of the best offshore handling sport fish and express yachts in the industry. I know this personally as my first sailfish was caught on a rough Miami day, while fishing quite comfortably on a 52 footer. I have dreamt about owning one myself since that young age and really jump started my already strong love for boats.
Since then, quite a few things have changed. A few of those most notable are the introduction of the 28', 34' and flagship 42' Buddy Davis Center Consoles. These boats give those of us which love CC's the chance to own a piece of their Carolina style sportfish designs, in a nimble package more feasible to the majority. Although a smaller line from BD, these guys don't skip a beat when it comes to constructing these pint sized sportfish yachts. They also don't stay behind in regards to their ride and offshore capability. The aggressive flare, modern options and outboard configurations give this Carolina legend a pleasant look that stands out among the CC's of today.
The Buddy Davis 28' is offered in an open foredeck layout for pure fishing, or with seating up at the bow for the casual angler who also likes to cruise. Forward seating offers an extremely comfortable area for friends and family, but also adds great storage which is always welcomed in an open Center Console. There is additional dry storage in the large console as well which offers plenty of room for a head. The cockpit is built with the simplicity, cleanliness and charm of one of her larger sisters in the sportfish grouping. The helm is simple, yet funtional while offering plenty of space for clean electronics setups through and through. Add the look of large, flush mounted electronics and you have yourself a setup any captain would admire. A large 45-gallon live well is incorporated into the leaning post making it easy to access a bait without the need to drop to the deck. A tackle storage drawer located above the baitwell is handy for storing tackle of all kinds.
Everything in the Buddy Davis line of CC's is customizable to each individual owner, which really gives you the sportfish feel when building your CC. This is definitely the boat for that particular owner that enjoys to have their boat stand out in a crowd. An owner that loves a boat with character, more than something that just runs fast with five outboards strapped to the back.
